Meet Farooq, Our Technical Support Engineer

Please can you tell us a bit about your role within Gentium Tech International?

As an IT professional in the industry, I serve as a technical support engineer, undertaking various roles such as providing project consultancy, managing multinational human resources, and offering remote network/desktop support. My work has taken me to diverse locations across Portugal. I typically operate within standard business hours, although flexibility is necessary to meet project demands. Common challenges like weather conditions and tight timeframes are familiar, but I'm adept at adapting and delivering quality results.

How did you start your career as a Technical Support Engineer?

I commenced my career in this field as a Software Support Technician, where I acquired hands-on experience troubleshooting software and hardware issues for clients. Over the years, I've progressed through various roles globally, spanning South East Asia, South Korea, the Middle East, the US, and Europe. Through these experiences, I refined my skills in project management, human resources management, and technical support, fostering a deep understanding of the industry and the ability to effectively tackle complex challenges.

Have there been any challenges you have faced recently?

Yes, at a leading mobile phone traders in U.A.E! I successfully executed remote deployment of Android modifications, ensuring absolute firmware functionality and performance across multiple locations. Additionally, provided Remote Network Support/Desktop Support for clients across various industries. This involved troubleshooting complex network issues, offering remote assistance for software and hardware-related problems, and ensuring the seamless operation of IT infrastructure for clients across different geographic locations. All of this was made possible with the dedicated efforts of my team of over 30 individuals who work efficiently under my supervision.

Despite the distance and technical complexities, we effectively resolved issues and maintained high levels of client satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
