MPOS: Store Installation

Project Overview

Our Field Engineer in Germany was tasked with the installation of a range of modern point-of-sale (MPOS) devices for a fashion brand's retail outlet. This included the setup of devices such as the Star Trek Wireless Printer, SL-3000 EMEA cash drawer, iPhone SE, ASM1 device, E285 card payment terminal, Fortinet LAN Unit, Aruba Access Point, and USB Charging Hub. The installation process was guided by a comprehensive runbook, ensuring adherence to specifications and seamless integration of the new POS infrastructure.

Challenges Faced

The primary challenge faced during the project was to ensure the precise collection and arrangement of devices according to the brand's recommendations. Additionally, configuring the diverse range of devices and integrating them with the Aruba Access Point posed logistical and technical challenges. Rigorous testing was necessary to validate the functionality of the entire system and obtain approval from the local contact.

Solution

Our Field Engineer carefully followed the instructions outlined in the runbook for the installation and configuration of each device. With expertise, the Aruba Access Point was installed to optimise connectivity, and devices were seamlessly connected to the designated Wi-Fi network. Rigorous testing, including sample transactions, was conducted to ensure the robust functionality of the newly implemented system

Outcome

The successful completion of the installation project resulted in the fashion brand's retail outlet being equipped with a modern and efficient POS infrastructure. The seamless integration of devices and the Aruba Access Point ensured reliable connectivity and streamlined operations. Approval from the local contact affirmed the functionality of the system, culminating in a thorough sign-off to denote the successful completion of the project.
